Digipak (with full colour, 9 page lyrics booklet)

The original, unedited (and soon-to-be-discontinued) sequel to Children Lost In Fantasy, this monumental behemoth of an album was criticised by some (upon release) for its length, inaccessibility and rampant experimentalism. Dark, dense and almost overwhelming in its claustrophobic atmosphere, "From Within The Smoke Of Passing Souls..." (labelled as Children Lost In Fantasy Part II) rewards the attentive, discerning listener.

Reviews:

Jud Vandy – Children Lost In Fantasy 2

Over the years Camborne's Jud Vandy has blown me away with his singular songwriting vision, which has now exploded into two mindwarping albums filled with more ideas than most musicians explore over ten.

Opening song Through Walls is an apocalyptic beast redolent of cult 1990s guitar explorers Quicksand while the successor demonstrates how wildly Jud's songwriting can veer – Ghost On The Backstreet sounds like the dark sweetness of Stone Roses on a dubstep tip.

There's an almost gothic darkness here without the dreaded goth element. Imagine Nine Inch Nails with an English folk edge and that's the likes of Spill The Mute.

Jud really is an ingenious songwriter who needs to be heard by a wider audience. - Lee Trewhela, The West Briton (Thursday, October 20, 2011).
